Alberta Energy Storage 101
26.January.2017
08.00 – 17.00
AITF Building – Conference Hall
3608 33 St NW, Calgary, AB T2L 2A6
Summary:
This one-day seminar will review Energy Storage in Alberta and bring together a panel of policy-makers, industry experts and innovators to explore the opportunities for Alberta to develop efficient, economical storage solutions in order to achieve market penetration.
Understanding what the future energy system can, and should, look like is vital as we move towards more ambitious carbon budgets, and look for ways to solve the energy dilemma. It’s clear that energy storage is a key part of the solution in facilitating a smart system, yet it is often reported that Alberta falls behind other provinces in its efforts to create the right policy environment, investment opportunities and mix of technologies to scale-up its energy storage capacity.
The seminar will focus on finding ways to overcome the issues of risk, political uncertainty, and limitations in available technology, that are holding the Alberta back from wide-scale deployment of renewables. This seminar provides a cost-effective opportunity to enhance your knowledge of energy storage challenges and opportunities.
